Why UK nationals only?

This event is specifically designed for people who are already living in the UK. By requiring UK nationality or settled status, we ensure every participant has a realistic and stable foundation from which to build a life together.

Why must I be open to relocating?

Because love does not always live in the same postcode. Roohi brings together Muslims from across Britain - London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Glasgow and beyond. Being open to relocation means you are serious about the person, not just the convenience. If you are only willing to meet someone within walking distance, this event is not the right fit for you.

When we say 'open to relocation', we mean this:

•       You are willing to consider moving to another city within the UK if the right person lives there

•       You are open to the possibility - not the certainty - of one of you relocating

•       You understand that marriage sometimes means one partner moves, and you are not categorically closed to this

•       You will not reject a connection solely because they live in a different city or country

We do not expect you to uproot your life based on a 7-minute conversation. We simply ask that you approach every introduction with an open heart and an honest mind.

The right person is worth a new postcode.

Here is exactly what happens during the event:

•       All 14 participants join one main Zoom room at the start

•       The host welcomes everyone and explains the format (5 minutes)

•       Sisters are moved into 7 assigned breakout rooms — one per room

•       Brothers are moved one at a time into each sister's room for 7 minutes

•       After 7 minutes, the host moves brothers to the next room

•       This continues for all 7 rounds — every brother meets every sister

•       After Round 7, all 14 return to the main room for the closing

•       The host closes and explains next steps

What to expect in your 7 minutes

There is no script. You are simply two people having a respectful, purposeful conversation. Some questions that work well:

•       What does your day-to-day life look like?

•       What does your faith mean to you in practice?

•       Where do you see yourself in five years?

•       How important is family proximity to you?

•       What are you looking for in a spouse?
